Student Council News

The Student Council at First Pres. is dedicated to school leadership and community outreach.

Every Monday, we lead Morning Assemblies with the flag salute, patriotic song, and announcements.

Twice a month, we hold our Student Council Meetings to discuss upcoming activities.  They are led by the Student Body President.

Monthly Chapels are held at the beginning of each month.  We have the opportunity to help by greeting people and collecting the offering for that month.

Every week, we run our Student Store.  Proceeds from the sales go towards buying new inventory and purchasing items for the school.

During the month of October, we celebrate being drug free during Red Ribbon Week.  We are lucky enough to have local police officers come and talk with us.

Another event held in October is the Pumpkin Gallery.  Students have an opportunity to bring and display their creative pumpkins.

In December, we participate in the Adpot-a-Family program.  We collect gifts for children who are in Children's Hospital.  We also take a tour of the hospital.

In the Spring, we collect books for Twin Visions.  Twin Visions is a library that collects books for the blind.  They are taken apart, translated into Braille and resembled.  We learn all about the process when we deliver the books.

Every month we have different activities for the student body to participate in.  Amongst these is Popcorn Day.  Others include Themed Dress Days, Donut Day, and more.
